Title: fairbanks morse magnetos
Post by: Nical on October 28, 2015, 06:34:26 PM
Good day, all.   Has anyone out there been using a Fairbanks morse mag ?
Seems that with a 30 degree impulse coupling it might be a good alternative to the overpriced slicks out there.....

Yes I have been using them for years on my pup but when the impulse spring goes bad you can not get any parts for it.(I have 3 for parts) I had Scott convert my  Mosler cb 40 to 1200cc and had planned on switching to a slick, but the new crank is not recessed to allow the slick to work so I am using the fairbank morse. If you can use the slick go for it I got a brand new one for $60 on ebay.
