Has anyone run the rudder cables through tubing instead of the fairleads, this was you do not have to have the exact length, you can be off a little and the cable will slide thought the tubing. and you just clamp the tubing to the fuse.

Joe, you want cable going through things that will NEVER wear out the cable. With your suggestion, the fact that "something will wear" cannot be avoided.
The fair lead material loves steel, i.e. the two can flow against each other for years...without wear.

Yea, I was thinking about it further and went ahead and installed the mounts for the fairleads last night after using a string line to see the geometry. But it is always nice to discuss on here and see what others think of ideas, this is how we develop the machine further.
