Title: Mid-wing or low-wing mod
Post by: Buzz73 on January 17, 2018, 04:55:27 PM
Newbie here, although I've been a Yahoo group member for some time.  I'd like to know if anyone has tried a mid-wing mod with lift struts and landing gear similar to a miniMax, or a low-wing mod with compression struts like on the Volksplane?

I would say that those are well beyond the modification stage. They are new designs.
There would be so many changes, some or many of which would not readily reveal themselves until later, that you would be better off with a clean sheet of paper.

Do you just want to change things? like for personalization or do you just not like high wing aircraft?

Regardless
Welcome to the group. Freely ask questions.  That's what it's for.

Thanks for the kind reply, Tom.
One reason I asked is I used to frequent the JDT miniMAX facility, and the staff was very open in showing the structural differences between the miniMAX and HiMAX.  I spent many hours pouring over the construction plans and climbing in and out of their HiMAX and miniMAX demonstrators.  The other reason is my Ragwing plans show how to change several of their designs from hi-to-mid-to-low with a few modifications.  To answer your last question, I confess high-wings are not my cup of tea unless the leading edge is behind my head...  I like to see where I'm going in turns.
