Has anyone thought of trying an electric version?

I am actually considering this. I havent decided yet, and wont until I am further along for my build, but I have been keeping my eye out for a wrecked Zero electric sport bike that has a working motor / battery pack. I think this might be an interesting combo that could work.

I've made a hobby out of casual research on the subject of electric plane conversions recently...it just seems like fun! Anyway, there are plenty of options out there. You can find quite a few electric Quicksilvers with a quick Google search, some dating back as far as 2013. I'd have to look again who they are, but there's a company that sells a kit thats designed for LSA to convert to electric. For an XL, a 45kw should do you just fine...its just over 33hp. You can find a motor/controller combo pretty quick for about $1200. You may have a bit of an issue with batteries, but search lightweight and isolated/insulated cells for fire protection. I'm planning on an electric Eagle myself, keep us updated on if you decide to move forward!
