Title: Tail ribs
Post by: misterbill1964 on May 07, 2019, 12:25:38 PM
ordered the material in the XL plans , started the stabilizer and noticed one rib is 35". materials are 20x24 , is it ok to splice for one rib ? Do I use .016 for the one  or do I need to order more materials.

There is another alternative. Use the material you have and add 1 or 2 more ribs less than 24". Smaller triangles will make stronger stabilizers. I think a 2 foot rib only weights approximately 1 oz. Not a huge weight penalty.

Other than the added weight, (and it's not much), I don't think there's a problem with splicing when done properly.
