Hi guys
I came along a good deal for a HAPI engine. dont know the hp or size, it has starter, single ignition with slick magneto, airplane plugs, posa carb, alternator seems to be incorporated at the back end of the crank in the casing, was taken off a cub like small plane.
I would appreciate any opinion or advice especially about possible issues for rebuild (special hapi parts not available or other...)
Also, anyone have a link for a VM airplane engine group? The one on yahoo seems dead.
Thanks!
Sylvain.

I know nothing about Hapi engines, but I have read many many times in years past that the POSA carb was a P.O.S...
If you got the Hapi, you would most likely be interested in looking into the Sonex AeroInjector (https://www.sonexaircraft.com/eshop/cart.php?target=product&product_id=16443).
I am fairly sure it is similar to the POSA but re-engineered to work like the POSA was supposed to work.

Hi Dan.
I agree with you regarding the Posa Carbs.
From what I saw and read on the forums, the Sonex aero injectors are not much better.
Many people after struggling for months with the aeroinjector end up installing a simple Zenith carb and setup everything in a couple of hours and fly trouble free.

Yep, lots of ways to go on it...
