Title: Wing folding question
Post by: libertyman777 on August 14, 2020, 07:37:54 AM
Can the wings be folded without disconnecting any cables?  What about fuel lines? (I’m assuming that the fuel tanks are in the wings)

On the CE the tank is not in the wing - it is overhead the pilot in the fuselage.  Also, there are no cables used for ailerons but the torsion rod would have to be disconnected like many other aircraft that have folding wings.  Probably if you had lighting in the wings you would have to disconnect that - but that should be a simple thing to do.

You mentioned a torque rod. From the photo, I can see it is a small diameter. Is it a solid rod or a tube?

Wonderful! So it's truly trailerable.

I wonder what this thing would do with one of those 5 banger Verner engines.

do not see why it would not work - i uses a full 4 cyl VW and the 5 Verner does not look much bigger - would have to just compare size-wise the specs of the Verner.

Agreed.  Since the 3 cylinder Verners work on the XL it should work. Have to work out an engine mount but the guys at Scalebirds said they would help.
