I'm just starting to source out material for an XL build and have found that it's not so easy find a source for 4130 tubing at least here in Canada.
What I've found so far....comparison of .625 x .035-84" length
Anything longer than this cost prohibitive to ship, will have to splice tubes where necessary.
Aircraft Spruce $66 /pc. USD
Aircraft Spruce Canada $ 105 / pc Canadian dollars $80 /pc USD
Online Metals.com $39 / pc USD
The Chassis shop $20 / pc USD but no stock !! ??? drag racing equipment, cool stuff
What about substituting 1020/ 1025 ...... ?
An interesting online store for a source of wheels and tires is https://www.bmikarts.com/

Glen, I am not sure where you live, but often there are creative ways to get the tubing. My very first try would be any local or nearest buggy/bike/custom shop that uses 4130N. And if your anywhere near Don @ VR3 in Canada, then the case would be closed as he has a HUGE inventory.
Now on length, by having all of course required lengths calculated, put on a spread sheet, the full lengths, then start subtracting each required full length parts. i.e. if you need two longest pieces, but can't get two from one length, take one each from the long length, then to the next longest piece, Keep going back and forth, letting the spread sheet do the math for you ( i.e. 242" less 84" leaves 158", clearly showing you could get both, but.... work through them to get the least scrap)
I have built many frames, and by doing this preplanning, and writing it down, the amount of scrap left is often surprising, on how little you may have.

Looks like your comparing prices, but as always, it is not the price you get at the source location, but always the price at YOUR location that matters. Maybe this is what you have listed, not sure----- Just saying.

Look at the material specs, and you will soon see why this is NOT recommended. Or perhaps better said, Look to see how many others are doing this, and I think you will find that number is ZERO.
Best of success.
