Hi,
Today I ripped the rib capstrips, as the first step in the construction of my might-be LEXL. I decided to use Swedish pine (Pinus Sylvestris), slightly heavier but available everywhere here in high quality.
While standing there at the planer it struck me: Where did you get your serial numbers? I ordered and downloaded the PDF, but no serial number as far as I can see...

Welcome.. might be. I like that. :) I'm not familiar with how Leonard numbers the PDFs, but probably someone does. They will be along shortly.
Starting with the wings are a good plan IMHO, since they are the most labor intensive part.

Well, there it was - at the bottom of the PDF front page! It was just to open the eyes... :)

I'm not sure how this happened. I'm trying to learn how this forum works, so I push a button to see what happens. Evidently this is what happens when one hits "quote". Sorry no harm no foul?

Hey Dan, where's the "like" button? TKS

See attached...

Thanks, I stumbled on to it and said to myself" maybe if I hit this button it will register a like" and darned if it didn't

That's odd.
I just got a set of Legal Eagle plans. It looks like my Serial number is WEB-8!? That just seems really low.

I have no comment on whether your serial number is high or low, but let me warn you about the "accurate" full size rib drawing. I and others have ordered this drawing and built our ribs accordingly. Only to find out later that the dimensions of the rib drawing are different from the rib dimensions of the plans! My rib drawing was bought quite (10 yrs) awhile ago. Perhaps this has been corrected. Do a search on "ribs" to get more info. These plans are more like a guide than a rigorusly drawn and correct in every minute detail. My advice is to study the plans and then study them some more;. cross check every where two pieces intersect. Some good news. Many legal eagles have been completed by first time builders, so it can be done. Possum

Sage advice.

I bought both LEU and LEXL plans. The LEU plans are also WEB-8, the LEXL are WEB-14. It would seem the .pdf plans purchased from the web don't auto increment the serial number. ??? I also agree, the numbers seem surprisingly low given the number of paper plans that have been sold is up in the thousands.
You might consider purchasing a set of supplemental plans from IronDesign. They are for the XL wings but all Leonard's birds share the same rib pattern so you could use the IronDesign rib plan instead. In addition to the above mentioned plans I also purchased AirBike and MiniMax plans to compare and contrast the details of all the plans sets. I've learned a lot and reading the the other plans sets has clarified areas in Leonard's plans.

I bought my plans a year ago - WEB-14.

Mine are also WEB 14.

I received an e-mail from Legal Eagle today

Thanks.

So it looks like my s/n is 2384.
