Title: Thickness of the 3/4 tube of the "X" bracing if the Double Eagle landing gear
Post by: Sylvain on December 13, 2021, 06:35:50 AM
Hi Guys.
For the 3/4" tubes, I don't see the thickness specs.
Since the load is in traction and not in compression, can they they simply be made from .035?

On my page 12A, the "X" brace tubes connecting the landing gear fittings and the 2" x 3" joiner in the middle of the aircraft show as 5/8" x 0.049". Then on page 19 these same tubes are shown as 3/4". I think I would go with 3/4" x 0.049". That should cover any strength requirements.
