Title: Tail feather wire tension

All,

How much tension do you apply to the 1/16" tail feather support wires on this airframe. Do you / did you use a tensiomiter? Is there a rule of thumb for this airframe?

That's a really good question.  I doubt if anyone used a tensiometer. My thinking was that I'd tighten them up tight but not too tight. Not very scientific. Using washers to adjust tension will not be very precise.  I hope some of those flying eagles will chime in and help us out on this.

I'm using 3/32" wire. When rigging the tail on any airplane, the bottoms are made the correct length so the horizontals are level with the horizon when pulling up by hand. That way the vertical fin can be made perpendicular by adjusting the two upper wires.
Tight is good, loose is bad.  :)  There is a limit on fine adjustment by just changing washers.
