Title: Wing fuel tanks
Post by: fresnoxl on February 28, 2024, 08:33:34 PM
I'll be starting the wing build on my LE XL in April and I'm looking at wing fuel tanks. I could make my own tank but I'd rather not. I have seen several flat 5 and 7 gallon emergency generator steel fuel tanks that will fit in the wing cavity. There is a 5 gallon flat tank on Amazon that weighs in a 6.7 pounds. MY question will it work?

If it doesn't have a sump area at the fuel line connection you will have to allow for extra fuel for reserve flight time.  Don't ask me how I figured that out.

Not unless you come up with a way to do without the drag strut.
