Hello to all. New Legal Eagle XL plans purchaser here. Looking at the plans for the first time, they look to be complete with just a few clarifications that may be needed down the road.
One question I do have is relative to the wing construction. At the wing root where the wing mounting straps attach, the plans call out for 3/4-inch solid wood. I see that as a solid piece of spruce that is up against the spar web and then covered with a 1/8-inch plywood on the other side. Is this correct?
Thank you for any help understanding this construction arrangement.

That is what is shown on my drawings. I understand that Leonard says the plywood isn't necessary, but I've never seen another airplane that wasn't that way, so I did it.

thank you for the response. So, the triangular piece is solid wood?

Here's a screen shot from 1 of the first videos I made... I believe I found this on the forum somewhere cause I kinda had the same question... But yes the filler is solid (pine I think was in my "kit")... Welcome aboard let us know progress... Good luck...

^^^^ Yeah, that is a picture of Bullet's spar butt. Maybe a little overkill..but I didn't think so. :)
