Title: LEXL: Tail Cable Lower Tab
Post by: Brock on October 03, 2025, 08:46:21 AM
What alternate (from the plans) lower tab installations have folks been using.  I need to make mine and am considering using two tabs a side and welding them on.  I'm curious why the plans have them wrapped unless it's more sure of them not falling off.

Either method works good  If welding them on do not weld across strap between tube and hole for cable attach

Les,  I'm not sure what you are saying (above).  Thanks for the reply btw.

If you i stall on strap that extends from one cable, across the fuselage to other side only weld side of strap as it crosses longerons, do not weld across. Welding across will result in a failure at edge of weld resulting in wires not attached to fuselage

Well, they are *really* important.  :) Easy enough to fabricate, and a good design IMHO.
