What kind of fuel gauge are you guys planning to use? I'm going to try a small, plexiglass window in my root rib so I can see the fuel gauge tubing I have on my homemade tank.

What about something like "MonoKote Clear" We use to cover RC airplanes in this...
I found "Ultracote"... I thought about using this to maybe cover the round struts after fitting with foam or lightweight ribs in teardropped shape...

That would be a good idea if I had some clear in stock. The cost of a new roll is higher than a small sheet of 0.080" plexiglass at Lowe's ($5). I think the plexiglass will be much more resistant to puncture, too. Thanks for the suggestion.

Could you extend your sight gauge tubes so that they come through the fabric into the center section?

With the wings installed how much gap is there between them? Reason is, it might be too small for you to see very well through that plexi-window. I like the extension idea as you'll be able to see it looking forward.

Thanks for the thoughts. Yes, the extended outlets so the clear tube is outside the wing sounds good. I'll look into the ins and outs of changing my outlets. They are epoxied into the tank, not screwed in. I may have enough fitting left if I cut the 90° piece off. I'll check tomorrow.

I’ve just been thinking about this again. Looking at builders photos of completed eagles, a lot of them have covered the centre section along the bottom. I wonder if there’s any problem leaving part of that uncovered so as to be able to see the fuel level indicator tubes.

Funny as I was thinking of the air around that area just a few days ago. My thought is that the windshield will totally disturb any air under the wing. So could be that no matter what you do there it could be of little use to cover/uncover the bottom there. just some un-scientific thinking.

FWIW, the cockpit in Bullet is almost calm. No goggles or even sunglasses required. My idea of my scarf trailing aft like Snoopy didn't pan out, the scarf kind of floats around, so I tuck it in my shirt/jacket. (shrug)

If you go with the plexi, you may want to make it removable so you have access to the tube and fittings
