Title: Starting 1/3 'Vair engine....
Post by: Bob S. on March 02, 2014, 05:55:56 PM
A fellow R/C'er buddy of mind had a 'Vair case & crank and I traded some R/C gear for it.... No head, and minimum con rods (I think... I haven't picked it all up yet)...I need a head to cut in three and some good piston/jugs....

Bob, I may have some parts you can use. I will be buying several parts where I have to buy complete sets if your interested in sharing some of those parts let me know. I won't be able to get you any parts before May, when we leave Missouri for Wisconsin for the summer.

THAT's super, Gil.... I am in no big hurry....just starting...First Step, you know... I have yet to even order the 'plans'...

I know that if you have to order things like a set of lifters...what do you do with 12 if all you really need is 4?? If you would put any of your "extra's" in the 'For Sale" area or a heads-up here on the list if you ever do get something I would appreciate it... Doesn't seen to be any such going on with the UltraVair Group.... Even for the 1/2VW.... What does everybody do with the extra jugs.and stuff??? If you have extra parts why not offer them for sale in the group section??

WAY BACK WHEN I had a '60 'Vair that I hot-rodded....wish I still had some of that stuff!!

I have the plans for this setup. Looking into it I was very surprised to find that you did not have to buy 6 or 12 of parts that you would need. A lot of the parts they machine for you are well worth the asking prices. I looked into the materials and it was not much more to buy the completed part from Ultra\Vair.
