Title: Gas welding rod choice.
Post by: Jlwright on March 04, 2014, 08:58:10 AM
When I bought my Meco torch I also got some ER70S-6 rod to weld the fuselage with. I didn't order enough and will run out before I'm finished. I have plenty of RG-45 rod already. Is there any reason not to use the RG45 to finish up.
Thanks
Jim

RG-45 is the traditional rod, it will work fine.

Thanks Sam. I was pretty sure that was why I bought the RG45 in the first place but couldn't remember for sure.

Is the Airco #7 rod the same as the RG45...and the ER70s-6 ???

The Airco #7 mild steel rod is all I have ever used on 2 aiplanes and counting...Copper coated...1/16"
Just wondering,

Dave
