Title: Winter gone...at last!
Post by: Sam Buchanan on April 21, 2014, 07:55:39 PM
It has been a looooong winter, even in the normally balmy South. The new flying season began for XL-58 this evening...great to have the little bird back in the air after hibernation.

Very nice, Sam. I was planning to report in with the same observation - winter MAY finally be over. We went out to the strip last Thursday to mow the runway and fix the gate and hangar gutters. When all that was done, the wind had finally let up enough to fly DE Stubby. We had her all ready for weeks, but cold, rain and wind kept us down. I was a little rusty, but most came back quickly. Landing could have been better. New flying season finally started. Tom H

Jim, to break up the tedium you could be building spars at the same time--that will help with the motivation. :)

Your right Sam. I need to order material though. I still need to get the material for the tail feathers. Might be a good time to do both. Maybe a good time for a road trip to Wicks. BTW, thanks so much for the videos.
