Looking over Les' XL at Osh14 I noted the best solution yet to hold the Dual Mikuni carbs in a way that prevents independent vibration in them - a "Good Thing" as Mikuni's need to be vibration free or a number of anomalies occur... Les' brace is low parts count and elegantly designed... I'm hoping that he will make some very good detail photo's and write up the fabrication process... Great thinking and execution, Les!

Les, I am very interested in this mod. I am getting fuel spray drips out of the vent tubes on my VM-28's. I was thinking my mount bolts were not tight enough but that does not seem to cure it.
I was thinking of support tubes on both carbs, , or really still hoses very interested in your fix,

on mine carb braces helped the fuel spitting at high rpm but they still spit at reduced rpms. mine were so bad i was having run problems. the braces fixed all that. the mikunis are famous for spitting gas. part of the charm. but you should be able to cure it at higher rpms.

Has anyone seen Les' carb brace sketch or any post with details?

I made the main support from case out of soft, hardware store, 3/8" aluminum tubing bent with ends flattened. The part between the carb and the bracket was made out of soft aluminum .050 and placed under the air cleaner hose clamp, i made a template first out of thin poster board to figure out where the bends need to be. Not real pretty but it works. Will have one in next couple weeks on the case chase on P-81, i had cut the flanges off on it so will have to use a different mounting method.

Les, are those 90* elbows make of nylon? Do they hold up to gas and chemicals they put into it??? I have been trying to find 90* brass elbow with barbs at both ends but can find any anywhere. I may have to resort to nylon if that is what you are using.
