Title: XL-58 Power-Off Spot Landings
Post by: Sam Buchanan on August 28, 2014, 08:35:09 PM
The education continues....

This evening I extended the power-off landing exercises into attempting to touch down on a specific spot. Overall the results were pretty good, but this involves integrating several flight techniques into a short period of time. Making the evening interesting was a cross-breeze from the left--you can see the crosswind correction transitioning from a crab to a slip if you watch the left aileron. Please overlook the pilot allowing the plane to be blown across the centerline when turning final...poor technique (and a very tight pattern....).
