Title: plans for Cabin Eagle and engine questions
Post by: boba65$# on September 06, 2014, 08:50:19 AM
Hey guys......just discovered this forum. Im a recently retired A&P(airlines),and want to build a cabin eagle. Relocated from Houston to here in SE Idaho. Questions: 1. Are plans now available?2.. I have an a65 (from my aeronca chief that was a spare). I kept it when I sold the Chief. Anybody build a double eagle, or cabin eagle with this engine?3. Since I have ZERO measurements,weights,datums,etc........Im guessing that I have to shift/relocate things a bit. My intent is a65 powerplant, BRS chute system(32lbs),74/41 prop(if it would clear),and because of this weight.....possibly a spring gear off a ch701( for prop clearance& mountain terrain that I encounter here in Idaho+density altitude issues(74/41 prop).Lots of questions,I know. thanks for any direction/input you may offer.

Greetings, I really can't answer most of your questions. But... The plans are not yet available. I purchased the DE plans and am building the wings. Most of the CE wing is the same as the DE, All the ribs, the spars and the fittings are the same. As far as I can tell the only difference is the aileron pocket and the way the ailerons are actuated. I plan on buying the CE plans as soon as they are available. Leonard does have a CE video which show the wings and fuselage.
Good luck...Paul
