Looking good, Gil.  I saw the cut down Corvair engine several years ago at Osh on a Legal Eagle, I think, but did not see it run or fly.  Be sure to set up the video camera so we can see and hear it when you get it going.

What aircraft is it mounted to?

Tom, not sure what the test bed  is. UV has my engine and they are testing it with a programmable ignition they designed, will keep you posted with results. My XL is ready to cover, just waiting on some warm weather so I can move everything out of the house to my unheated shop. Been in the 70's here all week, but will get down to 33 this weekend. But I'm sure by the end of the month it will be like summer in SE Missouri!

Hi Gill. I fly a home design, home built my self. I`me located in Poplar Bluff. Where are you located. I would very much like to see your engine project. Maybe we could get together and talk airplanes.

I go to the Poplar Bluff VA, we will have to get together this summer. I'm in Viburnum, bout 140 miles or so from you. Nice looking plane, what is it? Do you fly out of Poplar Bluff? I went to the Menards there for my DF for my spar caps for my XL. They are all over in Wisconsin, but not too many here yet.

It is my own design. I am 67, and this is my 4 airplane I have built and flown. I also build and fly big gas powered RC airplanes. Power is a MZ-202 65 HP two stroke engine. So far it has been a great little engine. I have 26 hours flying time on it now. The wing is built just like a Legal Eagle, but I uses a Eippler 591 airfoil. I have used it before, and it works pretty darn good. 160 S.Q area. Stall speed about 30 MPH.

I know what it is like to be 67, will turn 68 in July! Graduated in 65 from Esther MO. I built the DE, and have a Wag A Bond 90% or better finished in a barn in Wisconsin. Want to move everything to MO, but not having much luck selling my holdings in Wisconsin. I own a share of WI50, a small airstrip just out of Madison ,WI, with a house I rent out, and a house in Kenosha County WI where I have my DE and Wag stored.
I have a Rotax  447 I will use on my DE if the Corvair don't work out. Heard you had an earth quake down in your neck of the woods last night, feel it?
