Eaglers, be aware of an effort to obtain XL plans without paying for them. Below is a reply I sent to someone wanting me to PDF my plans to them. The original message is copied below mine.

Nice try, Dani.
I respect Leonard Milholland far to much to steal from him by sending you his plans without you paying him his due.
I certainly hope no other Legal Eagle builders assist you with this theft.
Plans may be purchased from Leonard via postal mail--his contact info is on his website.

Hi Mr. SAM ,
I've seen your project :

And I liked your work , in fact building a plane is a dream of mine
since I was a child , and when I saw your amazing project I decided to
build my own Legal Eagle .
the first step is of course to bring the plans and the materials needed
. That's where I need your help , so would you please send me the plans
in a pdf file .
your experience means a lot for me , I would like to be your friend .
yours, Dani Kolyman

I suspect the plans would end up on a "free plans" website somewhere.

GOOD JOB Sam!! I certainly hope any/all other Eagler's follow your example.
I don't think the cost of plans is any major hurdle for an aspiring Eagle builder!!!
You were a whole lot more courteous than I would be...That's for sure!!!

I received a reply from "Dani" wherein he apologized and pleaded ignorance for what he requested. This may have been a language/cultural issue. In any case I sent him contact info for Leonard.

Right on, Sam!

Well done Sam!
I get request all the time to provide drawings to many different airplanes, even after explaining that I only clarify a few parts or ways to build them, and my drawings would in no way let them build the plane, with them first having the original drawings complete, they still press on and want more.
That is where they then ask in a very similar manner what you were asked. I guess I never have been so bold, but then again, some of these folks are only doing what they have always done, trying to get something for nothing, then sell for something.
Good heads up.
