Rib gussets

Okay, got a stupid question ('cause that's pretty much the only kind I ask) about the rib gussets on the DE. I looks around the forum for an answer, but couldn't find anything. Please forgive me if this has been asked before, but does it matter which way the grain, in the 0.8mm plywood, runs? And if so, which way should it run? Parallel to the cap strips? Perpendicular? On an angle?

I got a team together and we're building my DE as a chapter project. And a couple of the guys are super concerned about this.

I did not worry about this when i cut mine. I used Sam Buchanans technique of cutting them with a paper cutter. The  grain ends up going in different directions anyway

This question seemed to have had a consensus back in 07 on the old list...

Also, it stands to reason if it is really "ply" wood it has different grain orientation in each ply.

LOL, well I had my laugh, because I asked some of the chapter members, (engineers and a&p), and a master A&P the same question. The answer was no, not on such small pieces.

Thanks guys. That's pretty much what I figured. But it's reassuring to have some back up from those that have been there.

I don't think I gave mine any specific orientation, just made some templates, drew them on the wood to best use it all, then cut them with a pair of heavy duty scissors.
