BOEING SURPLUS
« on: September 04, 2016, 11:59:45 AM »
Any one know of a "surplus materials" place like the old BOEING SURPLUS (used to be in Kent, WA) here in the Northwest?   Place was a gold mine back in the day.
Retired US Postal Service 6 years, Sport Pilot (Aeronca 1946), first time builder and enjoying every bit of it (well, there are those gussets).   married (49 years), have had the flying bug forever.       reinkings@comcast.net

Boeing Surplus is no longer there?

That just ruined my day I always had plans to one day visit that place myself. My dad, who passed away a few years ago, used to go to Boeing Surplus a couple times a year when they had their annual fastener by the pound, and their tooling by the pound sales. He would call me up and ask me what I needed. I still have a couple hundred pounds of AN bolts and screws that I got for $1.25 a pound. The best one though was when he got me about fifty 1/2" to 1" diameter ball end mills for $1.25 a pound.

ANYONE HAVE A SOURCE FOR PROPELLER BOLTS?? I NEED 6 BOLTS 5/16"  (AN5)...  WITH A NOMINAL LENGTH OF 2 3/4" AND A GRIP LENGTH 1 3/4".  AIRCRAFT SPRUCE DOES NOT CARRY THAT SIZE IN THE AN5 GROUP.  THE GRIP LENGTH IS CRITICAL FOR A PROP BOLT.

HEY GUYS I FOUND PROPELLER BOLTS AT CALIFORNIA POWER SYSTEMS.  8mm  X  70 mm with a 7/8" thread and drilled head for safety wire, $4.45 each.  THEY ARE THE EQUIVALENT OF 5/16"  X  2 3/4"  LONG WITH A 1 3/4" GRIP.
