Drawing Confusion
« on: August 01, 2025, 06:14:53 AM »
Page 6 of the Double Eagle plans shows a diagram, labeled "STATION 5" which shows some dimensions for mounting additional structure to hold cable guides and cable pulley brackets.  I'm not sure what this drawing actually shows.  Is it a "true view" of the installation?

Station 5 actually consists of a cross tube in the bottom frame at location 5.  But 2 sets of interstitial diagonals run from that cross tube up to the fuselage spine.  Is that additional structure to be installed between the diagonal pair that angles to the front of the fuselage or between the pair of diagonals that angles toward the rear of the fuselage.  Looking through some of the pictures in the gallery, I can't really find a clear answer to the question since it appears that either interpretation may have been used by various builders.

Regardless of the answer to that question, I'd still like to know if the "STATION 5" depiction is a true view or a front view.  It makes a difference as to the location of the supporting structure to be added.

Never mind!  Excuse the ring.  I think I've figured out a plan based on looking at several pictures posted by other builders.  If I picked it wrong...I'll live with it.
