Trailer size/LEXL height?
« on: October 26, 2026, 12:28:35 PM »
What is the length of the XL from tip of rudder to prop and total height from ground to top of rudder or top of wing mounting post on fuselage "which ever is taller" Im buying a 18' inclosed trailer this weekend and want to make darn sure it will fit length wise and hight. And im doing folding wings so by the looks of it i need to account for an extra few inches in height for when the wings are folded? Bottom line, anyone have any measurement from ground to tallest point with wings folded? Plans say 6'3" but i need to clarify if thats top of wings especially with them folded. And this will be with black max wheels and tires not bicycle wheels.

First off, sorry it took so long to reply... My XL has a slightly different tail but still should be close... As far as the length, mine may be a couple of inches longer than plans due to a wider rudder (stick out 2" beyond wing tips) - I'm 17 feet long... As far as tallest point for mine is 71 inches folded (at the front side of the wing) - I came to just under 67 inches at the rear... All builds will differ slightly... Hope this helps...

On another note, we NEED to support the wings/fuselage during travel... the trailer WILL BEAT UP the plane if not WELL SECURED!!!! I'm several videos behind, but hopefully will give some thoughts on this soon...
