you may have many answers to this already, but as shown by many, one template then can easily duplicate all the rest.

something to think about, with ones "determination" of the nose rib drawings, and converted file for the laser does not mean that it would match your spar height, unless of course you waiting for these (nose ribs) to then determine the exact spar height. (recommended)

best of success.
Scott
ps..using the router method, once the template is made and parts drawn on sheet, you can get rough size done quickly and we always made 4 at a time after that.  Goes fast.

Thanks for the reply Scott. I haven't heard from anyone supplying them so I will probably do myself. Just trying to speed up the build a little.

Hi 914 Pete,

I had my DE/CE laser cut. Got about 78 Ribs out of a 4 x 4 foot sheet.

here is a link to some images and video
https://goo.gl/photos/wDSDtEBEyLaqLv559

Also just a note, we added .5mm around the external edge to be able to sand this back and remove the scorch Marks for proper glue adhesion.
When the ribs were done, simply bolted them all together with all rod and the sanded with a finishing sander

Cheers Paul

Yes they are, It was done as a one off several years ago. The actual cutter is made in Texas (correction its Minnesota )  . I  imagine there are heaps of them all over the USA. You could do your own simple layup and maybe email to someone who has one, have your sheet of timber delivered to them for cutting. The end product would fit in a shoe box for shipping back.

Cost is an issue I guess. I paid about $250 AUD at the time, but they were all cut in 1:26 mins and saved countless hours and were all perfect.

It's up to each person to judge the value in that. I would do it again.
Best of luck, let me know how you go.

cheers Paul

I did mine using a CNC Router.  I have a CO2 Laser cutter but found it does not cut 1/4 inch as good as I would like - probably need a 100Watt Laser instead of the 80 i currently have.  Anyway, CNC router worked well - I have a couple openbuilds build CNC routers now.

Do you happen to have the drawing you used for this?

Thanks
