Meco Midget Torch
« on: August 15, 2019, 08:36:15 AM »
I've been searching for information on the Meco Midget torch. Tin Man Technologies is mentioned most as the supplier for this torch. I found that Otto Frei jewelry supply sells the tips for about 40% less than T M Tech    https://www.ottofrei.com/?logoff=T&whence=

So, I want to make sure your comparing apples to apples.

The mico from TM is $146  and the mico from Otto Friei is

Meco Midget Torch With 3 Tips (N-00, N-0, N-2 Tips)
Part # 114.160
$186.00 $196.00

And your saying the second company is selling tips for 40% less?  And they both come with 3 tips, so what am I missing here?
if your thinking your gonna need more than the 3  tips and the savings is going to be worth it... I beg to differ...  Just my opinion.

by the way, maybe be the 0, 2 and 3  for your aircraft.... TM will tell you exactly.

I have had only 3 tips for over 10 years, seems to fit the bill.

The Meco Midget torch looks slick for sure. But if your looking for everything but the tanks and save some $, I got this for $160 (coupon) It really works quite well.

And unless you can work full time on the build, I would suggest buying the tanks. I've been renting tanks which at this point has cost more then the cost to buy.

Is there some sort of discount code available for the Midget from Tin Man? I just looked at the official website and the torch with three tips 00-0--1 is $193.76 plus shipping.

I only commented on the tips. I want the 3 and 4 for other projects. Here are a couple of screen shots. First is from T M, the second is from Otto Frei.
