Online plans
« on: September 05, 2019, 08:48:23 PM »
I just bought and downloaded the web plans for the XL. I must have done something wrong or didn’t get the actual plans. There are no dimensions for the wing ribs. I only can see about 1/4 of the page. It is too small to read when printed out.
What did I do wrong! I really though I would be ordering a book of printed plans. I guess I should have paid more attention.

I'm curious on this too. I ordered the double eagle plans and only got the pdf, which doesn't have a good copy of the wing ribs (I even tried stitching and scaling the pages in photoshop but they didn't overlap, and I really didn't want to just "wing it" hehe).

Most of the builders that want an accurate, full-size wing rib drawing do one of two things. Buy a snail mail printed one from Leonard Milholland or get the IronDesigns supplemental plans for around $35

I didn’t see the option for a printed plan. I thought I was getting a printed plan when I clicked the order button.

The web plan I received is not useable. I still wonder if I’m doing something wrong, because I can’t print out a full sized page.

I’m very disappointed with what little I can see so far. I hope to get this straightened out soon.

Leonard says he will send me the printed plans. I tried everything to get them to print out on my computer, but no luck.

I guess I will need to break down and pay the extra for a full size rib print also. I would suggest that should be part of the plan set, as there are no dimensions given on the rib pages.

As far as I know, Leonard always sold the full-size rib drawing as a separate item. Most of us have tried taping the individual sheets that come in the plans, and some seem to line up OK, and some of them do not. I think the ribs come out oversize when the sheets are taped together; mine did.

I can heartily second the Iron Designs plans. Well worth the money.
