Resizing pdf plans
« on: June 29, 2020, 12:42:33 PM »
Hey all, I am about to start my build and I have just realized that the plans I bought and downloaded are all sized incorrectly on each page. They seem to be about 50% smaller than normal is there a way to return these plans to the correct size accurately without borders on some of the pages to guide me?

Are you talking about viewing them on your screen or printing..?

My PDF viewer resizes readily on screen.  I usually get the hand tool on screen to move the document around to put different parts of it under the view port.

Kinko's here doesn't charge for pages you don't want, and will help until you get what you came after.

I am trying to print them, mainly the rib template.

I am trying to print them, mainly the rib template.

In that case you will have to use the printer scaling dialog box included with your printer software.  That should pop up when you hit print in the PDF...

First time through just hit print and go with 100% scaling and see what you get.

If it is obviously off, then you will  have to experiment with the scaling until a known measurement on the page comes out right when you check it after printing.

He probably still does..
Iron Designs has a nice full scale rib drawing, too. The thing is.. pick whatever rib drawing you are going to use.. they will all be different to some degree.. and stick with it when making parts to fit.

I ended up using some pdf tools and resized all the plans to correctly fit normal 11x8 paper.  was a pain but they look good now.  Of course, I would not use the rib layout that comes with them because the scaling could still be an issue -- get the supplemental plans for that.
