Double Eagle control stick

Hi guys, I'm trying to build the control stick. I took some pics to try and explain my dilemma but I can't post from my computer. I guess that's another dilemma. Anyway, I'm a little confused on where to weld the 1" angle cut from the 1" square tube, and also the holes in the angle for the pivot and the stop, I know the pivot is a 1/4" dia. but what is the stop diameter?

edit:  use the pause and rewind buttons if it seems to be covering a lot of ground too quickly...
