I want to purchase plans for a legal eagle double, but I have the following question.

I have a beetle car, can I start from it for the modifications, or do I have to buy an already modified Aerovee type engine? Leonard explains how to modify the eagle double engine?

Are the modifications expensive to do?

Would it be cheaper to rotax 582 to the plane than to convert a beetle car engine?

I've been running a modified V dub for 42 years. Yes, it can be done. It all depends in if you are comfortable with machine work, tolerances, etc. If so, go for it. If not.. (shrug)
