Come on Joe, Witman's tailwind was 685 lb. empty. I think.
It wasn't a turd. I mean Hawg.
If I take the chute and fittings off I'm at 600  :P
BTW, Put Put made the AOPA gallery.

Hi Utt
Wittman built heavy stuff. I need to be way lighter than a Tailwind.

Here is the Aopa pic...  I'm hitting the insert picture icon and pasting the url I copied out of the browser address bar.  HINT: it only needs one "http:"

PS... I am also hitting the "preview" button to see what will be sent when I hit "Post", and so I keep working on it until it looks right before I send it. Hint hint...;)

Rockiedog, just to set the facts straight, DE Stubby is 565 lbs empty.  That's with ELT, accessorized engine, bunch of stuff on the panel, doors, radio.
Don't get me wrong, not bragging, for sure.  Some day we may start trying to trim some fat.
I sure hope you can get a single place below that.

to test attachment

bout the same size except the new one has a huge cockpit
Hey why do ya need the Huge cockpit?  looked to me like the LE cockpit was adequate.   You keep tellin me that anything more than adequate is just dead weight. whats with that?

you packin on some extra pounds over there joe?:o

i'm tired of being jammed in little bitty cockpits. it gets my claustrophobia stirred up. so i'll just have to live with the weight...if there is any extra. if i had made it narrower then the landing gear legs would have had to be longer and maybe go up a size/wall and its already big heavy tubes so i think its pretty much a wash...maybe even lighter since the wings woulda had to be longer too.

i know you're just looking for something to rag on me about Weasel

When I rag ya about stuff I usually learn sumthin new...its why i do it.

See I would have never known about the claustrophobia issue. now i do:)

>>>> I'm tired of being jammed in little bitty cockpits. it gets my claustrophobia stirred up.

The design looks visually pleasing, over-all.

Now this is more of a "What if " question, than anything else :
What if we raise the seat-bottom by another 4 to 6 inches.
Would it not increase all-around visibility without moving the CG longitudinally...

Or would it affect the handling ?

Thanks
