Joe,

That's looking stylish. Must have been a lot of work trimming the vertical tubes down to change the angle? Yep, that was a question and a statement I guess. Can't wait to see it fly.

well, actually it only took about 2 hours to figure out the easiest way and then do it. that didn't include the finish welding just mig tacked. i compromised and lowered it aft of Sta 4 which is a large complicated  cluster . it would have taken* a while* to lower that one. if you look at the pic there's only 2 stations aft of 4. i took a shortcut which violates the very principal  we've been talking about in the bent cabanes thread...instead of cutting out the diagonals i heated then and bent them as close as possible to the cluster. yep against 43.13 but from experience jury rigging so much stuff the last 5 or 6 decades i'm confident it will be fine. but if it was much of a bend or bent somewhere away from the cluster a ways i would have cut those out. remaking the fairing around the 2 stabilizers took longer than the fuse mod.
thanks for all the kind comments. you boys are sweet boys.

Joe,

Are you going to fair in the fuselage with stringers or are you going to just fabric over the tube structure? On our L-3, it only has three stringers. One on the bottom and one on each side about even with the bottom of the side window from the rear of the door frame ending about a foot from the rudder post. Just curious. The L-3 has minimal wood work.Nothing like a champ.

In that before and after picture, what is that doggy rolling on it's back laughing about?
The "reduced crossection" version looks better......Rather resembles a  Piper Pacer.... :^)
