Front spar height
« on: December 31, 2014, 09:04:27 AM »
I am building the front spars for my DE and need to make some trimming to get the height correct. The plans show a height of 6 7/8", but the height of my rib at the front edge is 7". I do not know what the rib height at the front edge should be, since I assume there is some error when printing out the pages to create the rib template. I know the length of the rib is correct.
So are the two meant to be the same height, or is the spar slightly shorter to compensate for the leading edge plywood?
Plywood is only 0.8 mm which is about 0.040".
Should I make my front spar 7" or 6 7/8"?

My suggestion would be to build the spar to fit your ribs, allowing for the leading edge. "Build to fit" is a technique you can use often when building an Eagle.  :)
