Hello Everyone. I am new to this group and this is my first posting.
I have been in limbo for some time, trying to figure out what design to build. I have gone through several interactions, designs, and reality checks (like anybody else). The good news is that I am getting wiser and closer to what desing fits my mission and reality. The DE has crossed my path as a candidate more than once. It is crossing again; but, now, it has a different and more attractive appeal.
What I am not sure yet is if the DE has a practical/functional capability of being towed to and from the airport to nest in my garage. Reading the DE website (
www.doubleeagleairplane.com), it mentions that "The airplane is so light it is also easy to trailer (the wings remove simply)".
My first set of questions to this group is:
How practical or realistic is the removal of the wing and towability of this aircraft? In other words, how long does it take and how many people does this operation require?
Hopefully, I am not wasting anybody's time by asking this question. Just to let you know, I tried to search this topic before I started writing this post. As far as my search went, I found only one posting asking the same question, but about th Leagle Eagle (single place). Which, as I understood, does not have easily removable wings.
Cheers,
Ricardo
