A perfect day. I saw those util poles along the road at very short final - whoa! Then saw your comment that the wires are buried. Good thing, since you went right through them!

Very very nice.
Wife had John Denver's "Annie's Song" playing and it was so peaceful watching you fly over the fields.
I really like like simplicity and open feeling of the Legal Eagle. Gotta git one.

Hi Les,
What ever you set the camera up with during AirVenture. Seem to work pretty good.

Scott,
I notice you've gone from dual Mikunis to a single carb. Would you elaborate on the reasons and or point me to a previously posted discussion? Different heads as well?
Thanks,
Ken

Ken,
This is a different engine all together. It was built by Joe Engleman and he wanted to try the single carb set up on my engine. He has the same set up on his LE. "Personal Business" . I really like it. He built the heads as well. He does excellent work. Glad to have one of his engines. The dual carb set up was nice to. A little easier to star I think but this engine out performs my original engine. Not sure if I just didn't have my other engine jetted as well or maybe the new heads Joe made had some porting and flow work done as well.

Hi Mike and Rex,
The engine is a 37 hp Joe Engleman built engine. 78mm crank, 92 mm niki cyls and the carb is a Mikuni VM32 round slide carb. The prop is a Tennessee 54x24 prop but bet one of Frank Johnson's prop would be SWEET.
Yep, I learned a good bit of info during Les Homans forum during the EAA AirVenture last year. I have a long way to go though because I don't edit video very often and spend a fair amount of time trying to figure what the heck I did last time if you know what I mean.
Lots of fun and hope to have some more videos soon as the runway dries up after the thaw....

Scott, did you ever get to try those snow skis you made? I saw some article of the ski plane fly-in at Pioneer and thought maybe you made it there.

Howdy Tom,
I was there but by car. Great turn out. I did plan on flying there but most of the folks that saw my skis said they were to short for how high the towers were. Needed the height because the gear was made for the 20 in tires. I won a pair of skis for a Challenger last year at a safety seminar but I told the guy I won them from on a raffle that I would need to modify the height of the tower. He quickly said he would take those back because he could sell them and make me some with the right height. Like I dummy I gave them back and also one of the skis I made as a guide for the tower height........... Well..... I never got them back and wasn't able to fly at all this winter. Damn the bad luck. I even built the removable doors for that very reason. :-(

Scott,
Is Joe Engleman here on this forum? Was looking through the member list, but didn't see him there. Also is his engine building a regular business or just one offs?
Where did your airspeed indicator come from?

Ken,
For the most part Joe does not build engines for sale like Casler of Hummel Engines or Great Planes but from time to time does help with builder assist. I don't believe Joe is on the list here and doesn't use the internet very much.
