Hi Guys,
Just uploaded a new video of the Slug sporting it's new skis. Not very exciting but still shows with a lot of work and stupidity you really can fly all year long. Even Upnort in Wisconsin. Hope you enjoy it.

Scott, got 'er done! I know you have been working on snow skis for a couple years now, great that you got them working.
Can you tell if the skis change performance as compared to wheels, in the cold weather?
You guys are of a hearty breed up there!

Tom,
I don't have a lot of experience yet with the skis but the flights yesterday and the day before had excellent ski /snow conditions . Temps in the low 20's which makes for a nice dry snow and doesn't stick to the skis. The DA yesterday was minus 1600ft ,field elev 800 ft which as you makes a huge difference in performance. When it's warm as in the high 20's to low 30's it's a different story altogether. Sticks to the skis and degrades the t/o run but when airborne you still have a great climb rate because it's still cold.

Hi Frank,
It was a lot of fun. As you can see I put the old Tennesse back on for a little bit. Didn't want to bust up your beautiful masterpiece incase something went wrong. Your prop out performs the T by quite a bit but might need to tweek it a little bit pitch wise. Not sure, I need to call you to see what you think. It turns less just like you said it would, pull tests show a lot better but it's in the wrong rpm band for this engine? vibe range if that makes any sense. I really like the prop though.

That shadow of your plane down on the ice brings back some good memories. On a good day we'd sneak up behind a line of snowmobilers heading down the local river. Sneak up behind them and play the shadow on top of them from the rear on up to the leader. They'd look up and instantly go blind and then the snow hits the fan.....

John,
Great to hear from you... Ah nothing that a "Lot" of layering of coats, sweaters, long johns and hand warmers won't take care of. :-)
Are you making any progress on yours or still too busy building others Airplanes?
