elevator horn
« on: February 11, 2024, 08:30:54 AM »
Gentlemen, I have purchased an LEXL frame supposedly built by John Bolding. Along with the frame is a bag of weldments that look very good. The elevator horn is 8.5" long while page 19 of my plans (F85) calls for 6.5" length. I can think of one advantage and one disadvantage for a longer horn. To the group, has anyone heard or seen someone using a longer horn and why?
Thanks for your help.

I'd call JB...  Maybe he meant to trim it down after drilling (or some such, and forgot) or let the builder check the elevator deflection before trimming it.
