full size patterns

The full size patterns in my DE plans print out had to be enlarged by 1.16% to 1.2% for the bolt spacing dimensions to work out properly. I assume that would/could cause problems later in the build. Glad I caught it before cutting out the .125 4130 brackets.

You need to be really careful with scaling of those drawings. I fiddled with my printer to get the dimensions to work out correctly and the "adjustment factor" is not consistent among the various "full size" drawings. Just be careful!

I went to a print shop and we tried different enlargements until the dimensions worked out, usually after a try or two. Each pattern was a little different. Thanks for the concerns.

I just went through this again only this time the scaling problem is not the same in the vertical and horizontal directions. I made a "real" drawing of the part using the dimensions shown on the Double Eagle drawing page. This stuff will trip you if you're not really careful.

In my original post I stated 1.16% to 1.25%. I should have stated 116% and 120%. Oops!
