It's the design I have settled on because I am a bit taller than average at around 6'2, and I'd like a little extra headroom. But my weight with clothes on is usually in the 160-170 range which is significantly lighter than the expected weight the plane was designed around. I am also going with a Half VW 1915cc engine which I understand adds around 5-lbs to the front. I'm concerned with CG balancing, will this be a significant issue for me?

Do you mean a 4-banger 1915?  There was a L.E. with the full 4 cylinders.  They had engine trouble of the sort any new build could encounter.  I think they damaged the plane beyond repair.  Never heard anymore of it.

You will probably be looking at moving the wing ahead some.  Very doable. VNE would be a paramount concern.

VERY real, in light of the recent fatal Buttercup wing failure by Earl Luce.  Someone who knew very well not to exceed it and preached it to all his builders...

Sorry I could have specified that more clearly. I'm building my half VW engine out of a 1915cc that will be cut in half. So a total of 957.5cc.
