To: Charles DeBoer,  Charles I'm using the 3M glue and not trying to meet the STC requirements. However I am using the Eko wash and Eko etch to prep my tail feathers for glueing and fabric attach. I have 2 questions: 1. Is there a time requirement for adding the glue after applying the etch? eg must apply glue before 12 hours after etching.

2.Should the tapes and insp ring doilies be pre shrunk to 250 degrees before glueing to fabric? Thanks for your help with this.  Possum

I do not present myself as any kind of authority on any build process.  The LE XL is the first airplane I have ever built. This is only my opinion.
Question 1:  I didn't use any waiting time. I was too anxious to let 12 hours pass. Just be sure every thing is dry and clean.  The EKO bond is great glue. (3M is the same stuff IMHO)
2: I didn't shrink the doilies.  While using the model airplane iron they start taking
the shape of the inspection ring. The tapes are saturated with glue and don't shrink much because the glue is heat activated and sets-up while ironing.
