New tig welding looking for feedback
« on: November 04, 2026, 08:15:40 PM »
About a week into tig welding practice for my stainless exhaust practicing on .040 and .056 tubing. Will eventually be welding .035 exhaust pipes for my vanguard. Im coming along pretty good but i think im getting to much heat, see pics. Im welding between 10 and 40 amps with a foot pedal, .045 er308L filler, 15-20cfh, #8 cup with gas lens, keeping a short arc and moving as steady as i can and still manage the puddle and dipping filler. I have some .035 filler coming in hopes that will let me have more control and move the puddle more steadily. What does the coloring suggest around and on my beads? Go easy on me.. i just started learning last week.
