welded fuselage

has anyone bought a welded fuselage from john bolding? I am thinking about getting one .

I thought about it but I guess I went with buying the material for the building experience.  The material with delivery from Wicks aircraft was $1400 .  That's just for the material for the fuselage.

For what it's worth, John's been welding fuselages as long as Leonard has been selling plans, if that is your concern.

Thanks for your replies. I am thinking about having john weld me a fuselage, the only problem the shipping charges. I live 17 hours away. I don't have a tig machine. Could gas weld but rather tig it. John can have one welded in no time, its just getting it to my home.

I am under the impression that John no longer uses the T.I.G. process on fuselages he sells.  

He went to Oxy-Acet a few years back.  Unless there has been another switch I am not aware of...

John has many Eagle airframes under his belt, and which ever method he is currently utilizing,  you will not find better workmanship.   

He always took the time to normalize every weld when he did use T.I.G. for example.

Everyone thanks for your input. I am planning on having john weld my fuselage. It looks like a lot set up and time. It will also save me time, I can be framing up my wings while he does the fuselage.

Does he sell the material, weld it, and ship it?
Anyone how much it costs for the LE and DE?
How long does it usually take?
