Wing rib plans

Good evening all,

I've printed out the pages (scaled up to what I hope is the right size) of the Legal Eagle wing rib from Leonard's plans and carefully joined them together.  The worry I have is that the specifications state a wing chord of 55 inches and at the moment my drawings are coming out at about 54 inches! The odd thing is that the scale on the leading edge diagram appears to be correct.

I just need to make a gross error check of the scale an wondered if anyone could give me the exact distance (preferably in mm) between the rear face of the front spar and the front face of the rear spar? This will be way more accurate than the scale on the leading edge drawing.

Thank's for your help folks

I haven't looked at the plans in a good spell but, are you taking into account the trailing edge strip?

Attached is a photo that may be of help. The trailing edge is not shown in the photo and would add another inch to the chord. I'm using the Iron Designs rib drawing, not the one that came with the original plans.

Thank's guys - I wasn't aware of the TE wing strip but that will possibly make the difference. Does anyone know where I can get a FULL SIZE wing rib drawing???

Leonard is still selling full size rib patterns. I was able to order some for the LE just last week.

An alternate to using Leonard's full-size rib drawing is the Iron Designs drawing. Quite a few of us are using that full-size rib drawing and other full-size templates that are part of his drawings set. You might want to take a look: https://irondesigniowa.com/product/legal-eagle-xl-wing-plans-supplemental/ If you use these drawings you have to add the rearmost upright (see photo) since it is not shown on the wing rib plan.

Thank you all for the info. I reprinted the rib (again) and it was still coming out short so I've emailed Leonard (directly through his website) and got a very quick response - he's very kindly offered to mail me a full size wing rib drawing.
