Electric Starter
« on: November 24, 2025, 03:46:12 PM »
For those of you that are a little nervous about hand propping your 1/2 VW, Scott Casler (hummelengines.com) has developed a front mounted starter kit that bolts on, without removing the prop hub or distributor. I just made a test installation on my engine and once I get the correct, longer prop bolts & wire it, I'll be ready for some test runs.

Very nice design!

Should I ask what the weight of the starter adds to total engine weight?
